I am a complete beginner looking to pick up some basic, conversationa l spanish. I will be spending 6 weeks in rural Ecuador from October 1st to November 15th and a basic knowledge in spanish will definitely go a long way.
I enjoy languages, and am conversationa l in French.
I would like to have between 1 and 3 hours per week of language lessons beginning in late May of 2008.
I would be looking for a teacher who is willing to teach the most practical elements of Spanish, with less of a focus on the intricacies of specific grammar etc.. A focus on spoken, conversationa l spanish as well as on basic reading and fundamental grammar would be ideal. My goal is to be able to communicate, not pontificate in elequent prose.
