I am a beginner in spanish who can basically get by when in a foreign country, i.e. ordering food, asking basic questions, asking for a place to stay, etc. I can understand a good amount of conversation but am unable to articulate my thoughts back. I have some understanding of vocabulary and verb conjugation which allow me to read basic spanish, i.e. maps, hotel info, websites etc.
I'd like to learn Spanish b/c I would ultimately like to travel and perhaps one day work in South America; however, my most pressing needs are the fact that I am visiting Spain in late August (4 mths from now) and would like to be able to improve my conversationa l skills.
I could probably dedicate about 3-5 hrs a week; the main qualities I'm looking for in a teacher are someone who understands different learning styles, is able to understand my learning needs, and who pushes me to improve (i.e. will not revert to English when I'm struggling, will push me with homework, etc.)

I have been living in Spain for 7 months and speak decently....i ntermediate level. I'm learning Spanish because I'm living here and need to. While I am picking up a lot just living here, I feel I could progress faster if I had classes. I need particular improvement in past and future verb tenses, subjunctive, and other advanced grammer/conve rsation/etc. as well as listening skills. I'm finally starting to understand people more when they speak to me but it's still difficult at times.
I am looking to do classes once a week for one hour and a half at my house which is located near metro Fuencarral. Preferably Tuesday or Thursday evening.
I prefer a Native Spanish speaker with teaching experience. Someone who is flexible and able to push me to learn the language. I learn pretty quickly and am a good student....
