I have used Spanish in a medical setting and German in conversation. I would like to improve both my Spanish (for professional and personal reasons) and German. I would also like to learn correct pronunciation s for words I sing when I record music. (I sing songs in Italian, Spanish, and French.) At this time I would like to focus more of my time on learning Swedish, as I have a longtime friend from Sweden (originally from Kariskoga, now living in Gothenberg) that I plan to visit soon. He and I have spoken of starting a life together, and learning the language could only help. I would rather show some initiative to learn a bit first instead of expecting him to teach me everything I need to know about the Swedish language and culture. I would like to become proficient in conversationa l Swedish in the span of a couple of months. I am looking for a native Swedish speaker, if possible, since I also want to understand Swedish culture, especially when it comes to courtship, dating, and religion.

Greetings. I'm an adult, married professional and have worked for the U.S. government (CDC) for 20 years. I hope to compete for an international assignment or a government position with international responsibilit ies within 12 months. I desire to learn Spanish, because I recently got a job at an Dallas ISD school that is bilingual. I am teaching k-2nd graders who know very little English and I would like to be able to explain things to them in Spanish as well as be able to communicate with their parents.
I have taken five years on Spanish in middle and high school (about 6 years ago). However, I would consider myself on a scale of 1-10 (10 being fluent) a 3. I know a lot would come back to me though.
I need improvement in all areas.
I can devote at much as an hour a day.
I am looking for a tutor who will be able to take me where I am and help improve my weaknesses, so that I may be able to effectively communicate with students' parents as well as teach young children in Spanish when necessary.
