Three years of German in high school. Finished third-year German in college in 1991. My proficiency is intermediate. I want to learn better German mainly because my cousin and her family live in Stuttgart and I visit her often. Also, I may want to use German in the future for possible business opportunities that require German and English.
Ide ally, I'm looking for a tutor that could meet once a week or once every two weeks for an hour to converse in German and help me in my vocabulary, pronunciation s and common terminology that would be used if I were in normal conversation with a German. (ie.) at the market, train station, small talk, talk between acquaintances and friends, talking about my life, asking questions, etc.
I would want the time to be mostly spoken in German. I normally know enough German to ask about particular words or phrases that I don't understand.
I work Monday thru Friday. I would be able to meet at 6pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Saturdays are open. I would also be willing to schedule a time on any weeknight (except Wednesdays) after 9pm (finishing no later then 11:30pm).

I have a 14 yr old son who is taking German this year as a homeschooler. He is doing well with the software and textbooks that we are using for our curriculum. However, he does not have a good method for learning to speak the vocabularly and grammar that he is learning. We need someone who can work with him one on one to get him actually talking the language. I'd prefer that you be able to work from the vocabulary and approaches that we've already been working from and focus mainly on the verbal communication . I'd like to see him work with a tutor for about 1.5 hrs a week for a couple of months and then evaluate from there.

I have a basic understanding of german. Went up to German 3 in high school, then moved to North Carolina where it is not offere. I am interested in following up with the language study.
