I'm an advanced beginner...I took about a year of weekly lessons, using Buntus Cainte as a text...about 4 years ago. I don't think of myself as intermediate yet.
I am looking to learn Irish in order to read Irish literature and poetry in its native language, to speak with folks in Gaeltachtai in Ireland.
I expect to spend 4-6 hours per week studting.
I am willing to take lessons individually or in a class.
I am willing to travel up to 90 minutes for classes, although if I need to travel far, I'd prefer to do longer, less frequent lessons.

I am a beginner. I have never taken Japanese lessons before but am looking to start. I am majoring in Enlish at a local community college and will major in Linguistics at a local university. My husband and I want to move to Japan, where I wish to teach Enlish, within the next 10-12 years after our son moves out and is on his own. I cannot afford a lot of lessons, so I would like to learn the very basics so I can take a Japanese class at college without failing it (so I can learn with confidence). I am looking for a teacher that will teach me the language structure and basic writing/readi ng concepts to begin with. I also would like to learn conversationa l etiquette. I am not sure how much time I want to dedicate to lessons until I find out how much the lessons are.

I am a beginner in Japanese (I know only the basics: salutations/g reetings, numbers, seasons, some verbs with their conjugations, months, days of the week, hiragana/kata kana, etc). I am learning languages because I want to be a foreign language professor (in Japan) at the University of Tokyo. I speak Spanish (my native language), English, and I am studying French in high school. I am learning Japanese at home, but it's hard to work by myself. I need most help in kanji and conversation (grammar too). I would like to spend about 2-3 hours studying Japanese. I know that all of these teachers will present good quality in their work, which is what I'm hoping to expect.

I am a college sophomore in my first year of learning Modern Standard Arabic. I want to increase my proficiency as much as possible. I hope to improve my vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking skills. I am looking for someone that will conduct private lessons with me this summer (June-August 2006), perhaps meeting once a week or every other week.
