I am from the Ukraine and speak russian since childhood however I moved to the US at an early age and never learned how to properly read or write. I want to learn portuguese because our church will be doing a mission trip to Brazil in July 2013 and I want to be able to speak their language fluently. I will dedicate my upmost time in this language!!! I want to able to carry on an extended conversation with cariocas. I've learned some words here and there but not conversations or long sentences.

I am interesting in relearning my lost native language. Before I was adopted, I spoke Khmer fluently with my family. When I left them for a new life, English gradually dominated all of my vocabulary, and Khmer was pushed out completely. I am hoping to become fluent in Khmer again so that I may converse with birth mother once more in the language that she taught me. I still consider Khmer to be the language that I love, and I don't want to go the rest of life not understanding it. I want my thoughts to speak to me in Khmer, not English. I will do whatever it takes to get there.
