I am seeking a tutor for Hindi and/or Sanskrit. I have no knowledge of this language but I need to learn an Asian language for graduate school. I just completed my undergraduate thesis on colonialism in southern India and I plan on continuing my research in the future. I was planning to go to the University of Wisconsin for a summer language program but I cannot afford to leave the state. I am looking for a private tutor in order to become proficient in Japanese. I am considering moving there for a short period to work and I'd like to have a basic understanding of the language. I am a beginner student and have no prior understanding or experience with the languge. I would be looking for lessons 1-2 times a week 60-90 minutes in the confine of my home located in Chicago.
I am looking for a teacher who is fluent in Japanese and has prior teaching experience and has a set teaching plan to maximize the time spent learning the language.

I studied in an intensive Italian course while in college, about 12 years ago, and have taken one or two refresher courses since. Now I would like to obtain fluency in preparation for spending time there. I am wanting to learn other languages for career advancement and because I love languages. I am wanting to be fluent in many different languages, so conversation, grammar, reading and writing are all going to be necessary for me. I am willing to put any amount of time into learning the languages I want to learn and willing to develop penpals or something in order to maintain what I learn.
