I would like to learn Korean as I will be visiting South Korea with my family in a few years. I would like to be able to be at least a little familiar with the language to get around while I will be staying there. Also, I have entered various competitions in which I would be living in Sout Korea, should I be chosen. I have no experience with the language. I could dedicate most week days after school to learn. I just hope for my teacher to be kind and patient.

I am a retired physician attempting to learn Italian for its cultural value. While at my age I do not learn as quickly as I did 50 years ago, I am still capable of absorbing new concepts and information. I am a beginner in Italian with approximately 70 hours of instruction in the language. I presently have a local Italian language tutor from whom I receive 3 hours of instruction per week. I plan to continue those lessons. My local tutor and I agree that immersing myself in Italian would be very useful for me. I would like to reach the point of being able to have a conversation in Italian on every-day topics and to read a newspaper in Italian comfortably. I do not need to learn medical or scientific terms in Italian.
I am strongly considering traveling to Italy in the fall of 2011 by myself for a stay of approximately two months with the intention learning as much Italian as possible during that time. I would like to live in a small or medium sized Italian town in northern Italy during my visit with the intention of visiting nearby larger cultural centers on weekends. While I would consider joining a small group for some language instruction, I would prefer private lessons from a tutor willing to concentrate on my language, general living, and cultural needs during my stay in Italy. I would prefer a tutor who is comfortable in English as well as Italian and who is willing to discuss points of grammar in English if necessary for my understanding . I am willing to pay reasonable fees to a tutor who is willing to assist me in this endeavor.
