I worked previously in a hospital in London (the Cromwell Hospital) catering largely to Gulf Arabs, and I took advantage of Arabic language classes that were offered at that time. This was almost 20 years ago! Other than saying 'Hello!', 'Thank you!' 'Little needle!' 'Small pain!' and 'Finished!' I am a total beginner. I currently have some elderly Arabic-speaki ng patients, and I am anticipating travel in the Middle East in a year's time, and would like to make some linguistic preparation for both!
