I am a beginner in Spanish, and I'm looking to learn the language as thoroughly as possible in time for my trip to South America in just over a year from now. I'd prefer to have just one lesson per week, along with helpful readings and minor assignments to improve during the week. Preferably nothing more strenuous than that, as I'll be entering my final year of high school and wish to focus my energy primarily on my final grades for university. As for my teacher, I'm really looking for someone who just thoroughly knows the language and recognizes the differences (if they exist) between the Spanish spoken in Spain and the Spanish spoken in South America, ie. slang terms, pronunciation , etc.

I just started learning Serbian from a book and cd, so I'm obviously at a beginner level. I need help in pretty much all areas of the language. I'm looking to do 1-2 hours a week of actual lessons, plus take-home work (if applicable). I would definitely prefer lessons in person, although not necessarily one-on-one.
