I have no knowledge of Arabic right now, so I would be a complete beginner. I'm interested in learning the language because I find it very interesting and it seems that it could be useful for some careers that I am considering. I'm able to dedicate a considerable amount of time to lessons right now. I've taken a few different languages at school and have found that I learn best through interaction and participation with other students and the teacher, so that is what I would be looking for.

I'm at the beginner level. My parents are both Slovenian and Slovenian was spoken in our family though it was never formally taught to me. In those days 1960's the emphasis was to learn English so that I would assimilate into mainstream Canadian society and thus from speaking French and Slovenian at the age of 5, today I'm only fluent in English. I want to learn how to speak Slovenian and am very capable to get to Toronto to take lessons. My parents and brothers and sisters all live in the area.

I would currently consider myself to be a beginner in the arabic language. I have some basic understandign of the language and the ability to speak and understand some basic words and phrases. I wish to learn the language because my father's side of the family is from the midle east and being able to converse with them in their language would be very meaningful. I would be willing to dedicate up to a couple of hours a week to these lessons as I would hope to be proficient enough to converse with my family in a year or so. I don't have to be fluent by that point, of course, but being able to hold a reasonable conversation would be nice.
