I'm finishing up my first year of graduate school where I am earning a degree in Modern Middle Eastern History.
I have studied Modern Standard Arabic for the past year with a primary focus on reading,trans lating and grammar.
I wish to engage in study over the course of the summer in order to improve my capabilities. I primarily wish to advance my knowledge of reading, translating and grammar, as these are the areas upon wich my Arabic classes focus.
I am also interesting in improving vocab and speaking/list ening skills, although this is secondary to the above mentioned objectives.
I wish to dedicate between five and ten hours a week to directed study and practice. My schedule is flexible and I am willing to accomodate to the needs of the instructor.

I am a beginner. I have studied on my own for over a year, but have not learned as much as I'd like. I work for a non-profit orginization that ministers to eastern Ukraine and I will be spending a lot of time there. I would like an organized study of conversation and grammar skills. My personality would prefer to do a total emersion school and learn as fast as possible. I've looked into living in Ukraine for 2 or 3 months, but the cost and time away from family would be difficult. If I could spend consentrated time here, that would be my preference for now.
