Beginner level. Conversationa l emphasis.
After spending 2 months in Kerala, staying and touring with members of a very special family in Pathanamthitt a, my daughter and I are in love with Kerala - God's Own Country, and especially her beautiful people. We want to stay in close touch, and to visit again, and we think of these people and the community as our family now. We long to return to Kerala in the future as often as possible, and to be able to speak on the phone and in letters. While some family members speak fluent English, others do not speak much English. It would help greatly in furthering our close relationship if we could speak and understand Malayalam. Our friend has begun giving us words to learn from the start of our trip, but we do not know enough to carry on a conversation. .. just some phrases, and words, and alphabet work. It is difficult to proceed without hearing the spoken Malayalam language as part of the learning process. Please assist us in finding a teacher, and perhaps recommend some learning CD's etc for us. WE would be willing to dedicate at least a couple hours per day of study time.
