Beginner. Learning because I need to learn another language and want a challenge. I also love Russian literature and want to be able to read Russian authors in their native tongue. I have a bit of experience with French but I am really a beginner. My pronunciation is nonexistent. Even I can hear how bad my French is<giggle>. Perhaps, since i can 'hear' there's hope.
I am 'familiar ' with French.
I did attend a Summer Intensive at the University of Laval in Canada.
I would be very comfortable attempting to speak and being corrected.
Conversation is what i am mostly looking for.

I am brand new to this. I have a dictionary, learning book, and cd's to learn Japanese, but it's not the same as learning in person. I learn pretty quickly, but I know this will take a long time. I want to learn Japanese, because I am entranced in Japanese culture, and I would someday like to visit Japan, if not move there. I need improvement in all areas, because I only know a few words. I'd like to spend 1 to 2 hours a day on lessons, with homework given, if possible. I'm looking for a good natured teacher, who is kind, but strict, so that they make sure I get my work done. Someone who is easy to get along with. I'm pretty easy going, so I can get along with almost anyone.
