I mainly want to learn this because its a beautiful language, but also for my gf. She loves portuguese and so I want to learn it!
I am a beginner. I was very good at French in highschool. My teacher said I had the perfect 'tongue' for French. So I am not sure if I would learn quick at portuguese or not, but I would still love to try!
I would like to learn basic sayings and words, but I would also like to learn conversation as well.
I can dedicate a few hours a week. It really depends on the price the instructor has available. I don't have a ton of funds to put towards this since its more or less just a 'fun' thing to do. But, I would like to learn something!
I am definitely looking for someone patient. If I mess up, I don't want them to get annoyed at me! I am American and I speak English! With a tad French. But, patience would definitely be appreciated!

I feel as though language learning is a constant experience. I learned Spanish, French, German and Italian at a young age. Unfortunately , due to lack of practice, I can only speak Spanish and English fluently today.
I calculated that it takes me aproximately 6-8 months (with much time dedicated to the task) to learn a language fluently. So based upon said calculation-- I'd like help in learning the following languages within the next 10 years: Farsi/Dari/Pa shto/Cantonese /Mandarin/Hebr ew/Korean and Russian.
I'm currently most interested in learning Dari and Pashto for Career purposes. (Followed by Korean- my mother is Korean and she is always nagging me to learn!)
I can currently only afford $30/week on lessons. But will dedicate as much time as possible, as I'm very studious. (perhaps within the next few months I'll be able to afford more--I will update this profile when I can).
Qualities in a teacher: Professionali sm, dedication, cultural and linguistic fluency, the ability to hold social conversation (I find it easier if there's an element of friendliness within the learning process. It also allows for better learning when you can converse in the same manner as you would in the native country of the language being studied).

Hello,
My name is Greg and I am very interested in learning Scottish Gaelic. There are a few reasons I want to learn Gaelic, mostly aesthetic. I want to learn Gaelic because of its inherent beauty, as well as to connect with the culture of my ancestors. I also want to be able to learn Gaelic as a way of preserving a language that is dying out. I only know a few basic words and phrases like Ciamara tha sibh and stuff like that. I am willing to dedicate as much time as I possibly can to learning Gaelic. I have already learned Spanish, so I am familiar with the amount of effort it takes to become proficient in another language, and I am up for the task. My heart is set on learning this language, so I will do what it takes to learn it.
