I am an intermediate level student.
I have been studying Japanese for the last 2-3 years and have lived in Japan for 2 years. My level is interesting because I have advanced ability in some topical areas, but am missing substantial chunks of information in others. I am in need of listening skills and in need of natural expressions used by Japanese speakers (I do lots of direct translation.) In addition, I would love an overview of all Japanese grammar and especially when to use each tense.
I am learning Japanese because my boyfriend speaks Japanese and I would like to speak to his family. In addition, I would like to know enough to live in Japan comfortably and work a job at the university level (I am an ESL teacher and curriculum designer.)
I am willing to study privately, in person once a week and with a group or online twice a week. I would like intensive lessons now to jump start me for future independent study. I could do 1-2 hours for a private lesson and 1 hour for the other two classes.
I am looking for a teacher that is flexible and that would be able to help me come up with a plan of study. I have struggled with what to study and how for quite some time. It's especially frustrating for a curriculum development specialist. I would also like a teacher who makes me feel comfortable and not stressed out.

Although I took three years of Spanish in college (20 years ago) and have been working with Rosetta Stone CDs at home, my proficiency is not much above 'beginner.' I can read and understand very basic Spanish, but I've never been conversationa l.
I want to become fluent in Spanish because I feel like I've already got a good foundation to build upon. My company is expanding operations into Latin America, and fluency could lead to some nice opportunities as well.
I need improvement in all areas, but I'm most interested in becoming conversationa l.
I could dedicate a night a week (up to several hours) for one-on-one or small group instruction.
I would like a teacher that is enthusiastic and positive. Spanish classes in college were very frustrating because I just couldn't 'get it' and I want to very much.
