I wish to learn some basic Cantonese for a August visit to Hong Kong. My daughter-in-l aws family speak very little English and I would like to be able to discuss basic family matters, our new grandchild, and other simple concepts. I am a complete beginner. I do have a CD lesson plan and book, but I find it is too advanced for me. I would like a chance to practice and learn from a tutor. I have no interest in learning how to read Chinese characters. My interest is in verbal conversation.
I need a teacher who will correct my pronunciation of common Cantonese words and help me to learn how to listen to others. I am willing to spend 1 to 2 hours a day in lessons...5 days per week. One hour with the tutor, one hour or more of practice.

I am an educational consultant for a family who just moved from Vienna to Denver, Colorado. I am looking for a native German speaker (high german, they tell me) to work with their son to keep up his writing, reading and speaking skills in German while he studies here in CO. He is still in elementary school, however is fluent in a number of languages as are both parents. They would prefer one on one work including assignments of German literature to read, in person.
