I am learning arabic because my husband is egyptian and my step father is egyptian. I want to learn to be able to pass on to my children as well as for business purposes. It is hard to say what level I am in this language because I can speak and understand some but I speak slang egyptian. I would like to dedicate as much time as I can to learn this language as rapidly as possible to help with my career dealing with forgein banks and customers. I am studying the Croatian language in order to conduct research in Croatia for my doctoral dissertation. With over three years of language and area studies under my belt (including a summer course in Zadar, Croatia, in 2009, and preliminary research in Zagreb in September 2010), I have progressed to an advanced-inte rmediate level of proficiency. While my reading and writing are quite good, my listening and speaking skills could use work. In particular, I have trouble with listening comprehension , in part because my vocabulary is still limited. For the duration of my fieldwork in Zagreb (most likely from July 2011 to February or March 2012), I would like to take weekly private lessons with a teacher who can help me progress more quickly in the language. Having exhausted all levels of the Croatian language at my university, I believe I need one-on-one, intensive instruction tailored to my capabilities and deficiencies in order to advance beyond my current level. This is crucial, as my project depends upon conducting interviews and reading texts in the Croatian language.

I would like to learn the Japanese Language, Im very fond of the Japanese culture and one day I'll like to travel to Japan. I would like to learn how to speak,write,a nd read in Japanese as well as having an coversation with the language. Although I know a slim of Japanese I'll have start as a beginner and slowly work my way up. Im think I should start off maybe two to three hours maybe every two weeks or every other week.
