I want to achieve fluency in Russian, whereas now I am a beginning speaker. I believe it is an asset for work and for culture, and I have Russian heritage, so it is a personal goal.
I need help in conversation, and in applying vocabulary and expanding it to keep pace with and understand native speakers.

I am learning Japanese, because I would love to one day work in Japan. I am currently an intermediate level, and need more improvement with speaking Japanese. I am willing to dedicate however much time is necessary to become more fluent. I would like to take and pass the JLPT 1. For my lessons I would like a lot of speaking practice, and also to improve on kanji.

Having lived in an international dormitory for the last two years of my college career at UC Berkeley, I made a number of Korean friends. I would deeply enjoy being able to communicate with them in their native tongue and have the language skills to comfortably sustain myself in Korea when I visit them in the future.
I have no prior formal experience speaking Korean, though I have attempted to teach myself the basics of the Hangul alphabet and some vocabulary. Long-term, I would very much like to reach a conversationa l level of aptitude.
Ideally, I would like to meet with a tutor once a week and spend upwards of 10 hours a week practicing independently .
A patient and well organized teacher who can recognize my progress and misunderstand ings are all I ask for!

Since I am a highschool student, I would only be able to take lessons in the evenings or on the weekends. I cannot devote a ton of time to it since I have a challenging school and sport schedule, but it's a language I have been interested in learning for a while, and I'll work my hardest at it!
