Hi, I have studied Mandarin by audio from the library since 2006. I have learned all of the Pimsleur series. My travel Chinese is good. I can recognize about 20 characters. When I hear Chinese spoken at a normal speed, I can only pick out about 1 out of every 10 words. I would like to improve my communication , and do some reading and writing. I traveled to China in 2006. Since then I have studied and begun teaching tai chi chuan.
I would prefer to learn in a group or whatever is recomended.

My wife is a native Czech speaker and I would like to learn the language that she grew up with. I have gone through Pimsleur's Conversationa l Czech series, but my proficiency would definitely be beginner and I would like to learn more of the grammar and conversationa l structures of Czech. I work full time, but I would like to dedicate the time I have available to learning this wonderful language. At least what I can comfortably afford spending. In a teacher, I look for someone with thorough knowledge of the language and culture that can create adaptive lessons to my learning style. I am very quick with language so it isn't something that should be too troublesome.
