I want to learn Chinese in hopes of aiding me in my future career. I am working towards becoming an interpreter. My initial goal is to learn 2 languages, Chinese is goal one.
I have a small idea of Mandarin, but I would not say much at all. I will need improvement in grammar and conversation. I've had a small preview from my Chinese friend I stay in contact with. I also have many Taiwanese friends to chat with.
I am simply looking for aid in learning Chinese. I am ambitious and really want to learn. If I can afford lessons, I know I can excel quickly.
I am not positive how much time I should dedicate to the lessons, but I am willing to do at least 5 hours weekly. I am not sure how much is typical in a week.

My husband would like to learn Polish. My parents are from there, I was born in the US, but speak it fluently. My husband completed Pimsleur lessons via CD, and would like to learn more prior to our upcoming trip at the end of August. He is a fast language learner, and my grandparents were impressed with his knowledge after completing the Pimsleur CDs the last time we visited 2 years ago. He would like to concentrate more on speaking rather than reading and writing at this point.
