My approach to teaching Portuguese as a foreign language is, in essence, making the experience an enjoyable one for students. This involves a focus, not only on grammar, but on how language connects to every aspect of life. In my course, students get to experience the world we see as a construct of language and therefore perceive the world with fresh eyes. Music, art, literature, pedestrian life, news, etc are all a feature of my classes.
Another way I enhance the learn for students is by personalizing the classroom experience. This is by identifying individual strengths and weaknesses, learning what apporach works best for each student and capitalising on that. |
