Fun, personalized Swahili lessons Mr. Maganga is an excellent and patient teacher. He responded to my inquiries promptly and developed a lesson plan that fit my needs. My Swahili lessons were conducted using Skype video calls, which was very effective for distance/mobile learners. I also found the exercises very effective and enjoyable. They comprised a mix of written and online resources, as well as audio files to learn Swahili vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing. I would absolutely recommend Gray to anyone! This past winter I moved to a different school that did not offer German and in order to get the credit I had to finish up taking the class. Without Gray this would not of been possible at all. Gray helped me so much! Because of Gray I got a A- in my class, about a 93% percent, and qualified for the German National Honor Society! Gray was always very flexible with times and anyone looking for a language tutor doesn't need to look any farther. Gray not only taught me simply what I had to learn but also taught me other things that would help me understand the language better. An excellent experience! I recommend this teacher! i Couldn't believe I could learn more online, even more than my first teacher whom I started meeting with for Swahili classes! this teacher knows how to teach and Swahili language extremely well! I guess because he is a professional teacher and translator. He is also native as well, so I have learned more than just being academically competent. I enjoyed learning cultural bits of East Africa, which I have now understood how the use of some words can be so dynamic. I was even surprised to learn some aspects of Swahili semantics and phonetics that were so important in my academic requirements. The good thing I liked about him is the flexibility with my time. I am so happy! 3 times now my language tests grades have gone over 96% !!!! I came here only to learn Swahili but I am now taking German and Swahili lessons after realizing that Gray knows and teaches both languages. I enjoy every bit of my lessons with him, it has been so amazing and my grades have always been the top of my class!!! I have never gotten below 96%!! So far, so good! Gray asked me if I could write a review of him here. So far I can say that, firstly, he is very organized and with very good teaching techniques. Secondly, he uses audio and video files backups of most of his lessons, therefore, like I usually play my Swahili lessons back and forth in my ipod when I am running or doing something and it has really improved my pace of learning the language. I personally have enjoyed his passion and extra effort to make me learn, using other materials! It made my work a lot easier! it has brought me from knowing no Swahili to now intermediate level. Lastly, I like the fact that he allows me to send as many questions and exercises for reviews during my personal study times, even when out of class sessions, and still does not charge any extra amount. I can only round it up to his passion to make one learn Swahili. Working with Gray has really been a pleasure for me. Personally I recommend him. His teaching approach is so advanced, he makes learning so simple and fun! Bob, you are right! being barely a beginner, Gray has still made it so easy for me too to understand Swahili! This teacher is 1000 times excellent !!! I'm learning Swahili easily and fast!! This is the teacher I had been looking for. If you are looking for a teacher, certainly you will learn Swahili in a very interactive way with him! I have gained and retained a lot within a short period of time. He uses many tools of teaching materials and periodic participatory assessments that keep your knowledge gained always refreshed & reviewed at every stage. I like how he combines audio, visual and other interactive tools that have always given me the urge & motivation to go back to my Swahili lessons. I am in my third level now and basically I can have a swahili conversation. He is friendly and with a lot of international knowledge especially concerning cultures. I like the fact that he keeps time and that his rates are very affordable. Initially I did not know what to expect with just one review i found of him, but I realized he has his own evaluation form at the end of every level. He teaches so amazingly good, easy to catch the language! Thank you teacher Gray I have really learnt a lot from Mr. Gray, right from the first day! He really learnt my needs quickly and put me into a module which really suited my expectations. I recommend him to anyone there who wants to learn fast and with fun, he is very funny, I should add!
