The main purpose of the language course is to give necessary and actual knowledge of Russian language required in everyday life. Our teachers try to avoid boring tasks, tiresome grammar examples and reading unreal book texts. They use films, radio and TV programs.

Program Description

Course 1 "Let's speak Russian", basic level
This intensive course is intended for people who have studied Russian for 300 hours and want to activate and improve Russian language skills.
Emphasis is laid on conversation on everyday themes, on pronunciation , basic grammar, and understanding of simple texts (oral and written). The instruction is given in Russian with minimum English.
Course 2 "Easy about difficult things", first certificate level
This intensive course is intended for people who have studied Russian for 900 hours and want to activate and improve Russian language skills. Emphasis is laid on improvement of listening and speaking skills and essential grammar. The instruction is given in Russian.
Course 3 "About Russia and Russians in Russian", second certificate level.
This intensive course is intended for people with a good practical knowledge of Russian who have studied Russian for 1200 hours. Emphasis is laid on reading and speaking skills improvement, understanding of radio and TV programs, films, and conversation on different social and cultural themes, reading of modern and classic Russian literature, enlarging special vocabulary. That course is ideal for Slavic students even for those who have studied Russian for a while.

- How can I take part in your course?
- Pl ease fill in the application form on line. After it the coordinator will write you what to do next.
- Ho w to get to Petrozavodsk?
- There are some ways how to get to us. You can go St. Petersburg or to Moscow and then by train to Petrozavodsk. Or you can fly to Helsinki and then by mini-bus (we can organize the transfer for you) to Petrozavodsk.
- How will I find the way to my host family when I arrive in Petrozavodsk?
- As soon as you will buy train ticket you should write the message to the coordinator of the school with information about your arrival. The host family will meet you at the railway station.
- How can I register in Petrozavodsk upon my arrival?
- T he school will help you with registration. At the first day when the program starts you should bring to the coordinator of the program your passport (with visa and migration card and fee for registration 300 rubles (8,5 euros).
- Do I need to bring cash with me or credit cards will be ok’?
- You can bring credit card Master Card or Visa Card with you.
- Can I pay for classes, for accommodation and fro excursions by credit card?
- No, you can’t. Tuition fee you should pay via bank in cash in rubles; for accommodation you should pay in rubles or in euros direct to your host family; for excursions you should pay in rubles to the office. All payments should be done within three days after the program starts.
- What excursions and outdoor activities are available? And what are the prices?
- We offer excursion to Kizhi Island (Open-air museum “Kizhi”) - 45 euro, Trip to monastery on Valaam island - 70 euro, Excursion to city’s Museums - 3 euro, Going to Russian banya -16 euro, excursion to St. Petersburg for 2 days - 180 euro, Rafting - 16 euro etc.
- Do you give any certificates at the end of the program?
- Y es, at the and of the program you get the certificate with the following information: period of study, number of academic hours.
