Teaching Approach

My approach is based on gaining a deep understanding of the needs and objectives of my student. Programmes are agreed jointly and could include both spoken and written English.
Mat erial relevant to the coaching is obtained from a variety of sources, including the internet. I aim to create a relaxed but intensive atmosphere, in which the student gains both confidence and competence.

Program Description

Every one-to-one programme is tailored to the specific needs of the individual. There is no standard programme, although I usually cover key aspects of grammar. My students are generally business or professional people who need to improve their English for their work.

Teaching Experience

I have almost 10 years' teaching experience and I have taught people from a wide range of countries and sectors. I was a full-time teacher with the Canning School in London and I am still an Associate Teacher with them. My students have included many senior executives from international business. I have travelled extensively to run courses in Europe and as far afield as Russia.

BA (Hons)in French and Philosophy - University of Birmingham UK.
Approved Teacher with the Canning School London (British Council certified).
Certicate in Counselling - Westminster Pastoral Foundation London.

What is my teaching schedule?

Flexible.

W hat is my payment policy?

Pa yment in full required before teaching begins. A deposit of 10% is payable when the programme is booked. This is refundable if the student cancels at least 10 days in advance. If cancellation occurs less than 10 days in advance the deposit is non-refundabl e.

Payment is to be made by cheque in sterling made payable to the Online Coaching Institute.
What other relevant experience makes me an effective teacher?

B efore becoming a teacher in 1995, I spent 18 years in international business, including banking and management consultancy. This experience is highly valuable to my students.

Do I speak any other languages?
Yes, I am completely fluent in French.

Cost of Lessons

One to one tailored teaching costs £80 per hour face to face or online using phone, e-mail and videoconferen cing.
