To master Mandarin, a student needs to learn the listening, speaking, reading, and writing of Mandarin. While all four aspects are essential, I believe it is important to first master the listening and speaking, which are the basic forms of communication , before moving on to the learning of reading and writing. I am a native Mandarin speaker, and my approach in teaching the language is to provide an environment in which students can comfortably listen to and speak the language.

Program Description

I will teach students how to communicate effectively with Chinese and Taiwanese people using Mandarin, the official Chinese language. My program includes the learning of pronounce key (China's system), tones, grammar, reading, and writing (either Simplified or Traditional Chinese characters). The program utilizes both the visual and audio channels of a student for a effective learning experience.

Teaching Experience

I have taught Mandarin in a cram school for a year. My duties included designing the teaching program, assigning homework to students, and commenting on and correcting student's work. This experience showed me the main problems a student may face in learning the language of Mandarin.

Q: What is your teaching schedule?
A: I am availible to teach everyday except Saturday from 10am to 8pm! Meeting once a week is nice, but I believe to learn the language effectively a twice a week schdule will be better. :)
