As a Russian language teacher, my focus is on having you speak in Russian from our very first lesson! I feel that immersion and practice are vital to learning a new language, especially one that is as difficult as Russian can be. That's why my lessons focus on having you, as the student, speak and write in Russian as much as possible. And of course, you can't learn to communicate with others without listening skills, so of course, I'll make sure to use a variety of videos, audio clips, songs, etc. to make sure you're comfortable understanding what you hear. Handwriting in Russian is also very different from typed Cyrillic, so I'll make sure to teach you this as well.

In my teaching, I use various resources, such as books, songs, videos, audio recordings, and authentic materials, like news articles or Russian videos, to expose you to the language as much as possible. I also aim to make sure your Cyrillic reading skills and Russian pronunciation improve with each lesson. I believe that keeping things interesting is key to learning a language, so together, we'll undertake activities such as mock interviews, games of hangman, exploring Russian music, and more!
Duri ng lessons, I further offer cultural insights and practical tips for living, visiting, and working in Russia and talking with Russians, based on my own personal experience.
