I'm a good listener and ask a lot of questions. Everyone has a story, and I like to discover it.
As soon as a student learns something new, it's important to start putting it to use. While studying Romanian, I really enjoyed conversation time. Using my new words and phrases made me more confident to speak in public. I strive to kindly correct mistakes. When needed, I enjoy explaining how certain aspects of grammar and punctuation work.
I believe it is important to cover all areas of learning such as listening, reading, and writing.

Hello! I have taught 7th and 8th grade English for nine years, so I can explain grammar with patience and humor. I also know how it feels to be on the other end of things, after studying Romanian for several years.
Inc orporating the culture, history, and current events of a country is an enjoyable side benefit of studying the language. I am a Mennonite, which means I belong to a tight-knit community with its own culture. The only way this might affect my students and our learning experience is that I am unfamiliar with some aspects of politics, social issues, and especially pop culture.

I have taught various adult workshops on topics such as creative writing, relationship building, and classroom structure.
I have mentored teens and adults via Zoom, messaging apps, and in-person visits.
