I find joy in teaching the nuances of practical English (how it's actually spoken), not theoretical (from textbooks). My preference is to tailor lessons to each person's needs, so I do not have long-term lesson plans and none of my regular, long-term students have had the same experience.
Unlike some tutors, I won't promise to have you speaking fluently in "no time". The truth is that no matter what your current level is, it's going to take both of us putting in time and energy to see significant change.
Wh at I will promise, however, is to provide an informative, friendly, and even fun learning environment for you to practice speaking, increase your vocabulary, and, over time, improve your confidence and fluency.

Program Description

My passion, and what I do best, is intensive tutoring for intermediate level (or above) students who already have a decent grasp of the language but want to improve in some way. What I do most is pronunciation and phrasal correction, accent reduction, and introduction to new vocabulary.
The tone of my lessons is more like a conversation than a regular English class. So, please be prepared to keep up your end of the conversation. If you do, we'll never run out of things to talk about, I promise!

I have been a professional full-time conversationa l English tutor for 4 years and have given almost 5,000 hours of lessons both online and in-person.

I am TEFL certified, but more importantly I am a linguist. I speak English natively, Spanish conversationa lly, I know a bit of Romanian and Polish, and I've dabbled in Lithuanian, Russian, Dutch, French, and Italian.

Who do you help?
My focus is adults who already speak English at a conversationa l (intermediate ) level, more or less, but want to improve. Note: if your level is less than intermediate, it will likely be difficult for us to communicate.
How many lessons do I need to take in order to improve?
T he truth is that there is no magic number of lessons or hours. Simply put, everyone's goals and needs are different so there is not, and indeed cannot be, a one-size-fits -all answer.
If you truly want to improve, there's a simple rule that applies to learning anything, whether it's a language, a sport, or how to juggle flaming knives: the more you practice the better you'll get.
