SAMPLE COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
CHINESE: BASIC MANDARIN
Tau ght using Hanyu pinyin, the course prepares students for work or travel in Chinese-speak ing nations. The course is predominantly conversationa l, but writing and reading (in either simplified or traditional characters) may be included as the need arises. Generally, the content of the course is personalised to suit the needs and profile of students.
CHINESE: BASIC FOOKIEN
Hokk ien (or Fookien) is taught conversationa lly as there is no standard phonetic system for the dialect per se. This program is generally applicable for students who wish to conduct business transactions or social interactions with Chinese-Filip inos.
FILIP INO
Filipino is taught using standard grammar points in Tagalog. A counterpoint in English is used to teach the language, coupled with non-fiction, literature and media.
ENGLISH
Conversational , Literature and Writing courses are offered. Test preparations for SAT-Verbal and TOEFL are also offered, as well as College Entrance Exam Reviews.
