Teaching Approach

Both pinyin and simplified characters are used in my teaching approach so that learners can choose to learn either or both.

Program Description

The teaching has taken consideration the fact that whereas some learners may have learnt pinyin only, others may have learnt both pinyin and characters. In order to help learners gain an appreciation of what it is like to read authentic materials, a short extract from a Chinese newspaper or popular magazine is included at the end of the teaching.

Teaching Experience

I taught Chinese during last 5 years, I prefer to teach spoken Chinese on the one hand and character recognition/w riting on the other hand. Rather than requiring students to be able to pronounce, read and write every single character from every dialogue.This way, students can progress quicker in spoken Chinese and at the same time lay a good foundation for character memorization at a later stage because they have a more thorough insight in the characters. In addition, I focused more on character recognition in the beginning and incorporates writing characters only in a later phase.If you are interested in my teaching feel free to contact me.

I have been teaching foreigners Chinese about 5 years in China, and my working experience as an interpreter in the foreign affairs office will enable me to communicate with u more smoothly.
