    Teaching Approach

In fact, teaching a foreign language is not an easy task especially in a class with students from different cultural background , so I expect teaching abroad must face difficulties , as a teacher who will go to work in Japan, I think there are many things that I will face .I have worked in the field of tourism for four years . I worked as a tour leader and I met many people from different countries. I dealt with them most of the time speaking about cultures and civilizations . I met many Americans at that time and I spoke with them but I recognised their accent is very quick especially we speak standard English langauge so I think The first challange I anticipate is the accent, We speak and learned standard language but when we go there we will meet people with new accents and that will be a big problem in dealing with my students and I am afraid of their accent could creat false impression .It is thought that having an accent can hinder the opinions of the people I meet, if I meet someone that I don’t understand it is hard to relate to him & have a flowing conversation, I can sometimes feel confused & the person with the accent can feel misunderstood . It isn’t fair to judge people on the way they sound but many people find a strong accent frustrating and are impatient when they don’t understand the person or have to make any special effort to hear what they are trying to say. When a person speaks clearly they seem more confident & more well equip to hold a meaningful conversation with me, but the fact is that America has a large diversity of people & accents that it should be more proud of, nobody should be or feel ashamed of their accent or what part of the country they are from yet this is the case with many people that have a particular accent because of society being so judgmental .and I want to be one of this society
so I will attend many meetings , conversations , situations and making friendships there with the staff or with the students .
The second challange is individual differences , It's a common problem in all classes, regar dless, the differences in langauge or culture,so I may meet different students with different abilities,so it is my role to enhance backword students so as to cope up with their colleagues and to creat harmony among my students and to creat a shared aim 'learning Arabic' as a formal or informal new language .
I will treat that point by classifying my students to three main groups . Group one that learners need to see things in order to fully understand them ( visual ) they tend to think in pictures and learn best from visual displays such as diagrams, illustrated textbooks and charts . I will make them see all what avaliable facilaties and write things down .
Group two students learn through listening ( auditory ). that type of students learn beat through discussion , talking things through and listening to what others say . so I will make them read texts aloud and I will use a tape recorder.
Gr oup three learnres learn through a hands-on style 'tactile'that kind of students explore the world around them . they tend to touch things , make things fit things together or take them apart. so I will make them do activitesand exploration . I will begin with simple examples like 'go up stairs' I will say that in Arabic and make him do that action . I will go with them for 'a picnic'and make them do what I will say
like "pick a flower" I act the verb I told the student pick a flower اقطع وردة
I let students act like me .
at any occassion we can use the Arabic language .

    Program Description

I would like to say something; Arabic language is one of the most difficult language not for Japanese only but for Arabian also. I have graduated from Al Azhar university ;before English we learnt Arabic from different sides as a grammar , poems eloquence and expression So if I go there and teach Arabic for The American people , I will follow :1- learners ; Any teacher of foreign language should understand the nature of the learner . I mean a language like Arabic needs to be patient , needs to be active , and it needs to be able to gain . so the learner must come to the school and has the desire for learning . 2- teachers : the teacher should be able to learn the new language to his learners easily . I think the best thing to is reading alphabet carefully more than one time and come by different words for each letter I still read alphabet till they understand it like their mother language alphabet. why don't I use a song for Arabic letters ?and I need to determine how large my class will be in order to decide on how to teach the class. Smaller classes can engage in play-acting and dialogues in a way that larger classes can not. as Arabic requires a different way of thinking, reading, and a more intensive memorization than English. There are 28 letters starting from alif to yaa.I'll create a relation between the sounds in Arabic and the sounds in English. for example s: س
After my students recognize the letters very well I present a simple set of easy wards that have the same meaning and the same pronunciation both in Arabic and English such as : baby = بيبى / bus=باص / taxi =تاكسى / mango = مانجو / mashie = محشى / sugar = سكر / mama = ماما .3- the material or the book : the book must contain the purpose of learning it should be easy and not frustrating . why don't we use pictures and computer and the internet . here in Egypt when we teach a pupil the alphabet we use pictures when I read the first letter " Alef" the learner has a picture for the lion because the lions begins with Alef in Arabic we say "Asad" the should interact with his students and motivate and discuss and make situations that make them speak Arabic as often as possible. the teacher should make his students search for everything new that services the education system for example if teach colors I ask students to come by pictures or cloth or anything that is colored .and if I am teaching emotions the come by pictures that support the topic .that is to say that The most important, and most frustrating, aspect of teaching the Arabic language can be teaching the alphabet .Alif Baa is an excellent source for teaching the alphabet, because it is thorough and includes a DVD which can help my students understand how to form the letters into words and how the letters can make a sentence .repetition both by me and by the students is really the only way to teach the alphabet.
4- the school environment : the school is the house of learning so the school should save everything possible for the students .the school is the mean of education .there should be a Good relationship between students studying in the same class and a relationship between students studying in different classes and a relationship between different classes ,workgroups ,student participation in different school activities and related teachers and a relationship between teachers and a relationship between teachers, principal and staff members as well as making a relationship of teachers ,officers and employees with parents, guardians ,community and students.

    Teaching Experience

At first, I want to say that I join this program so that I can achieve my goals as a teacher .I am interested in teaching Arabic and have a true intention to teach my culture to the US students in primary ,secondary and secondary schools .
I have a true desire and the ability to teach Arabic for the non speakers I worked here in Egypt as an English teacher for nine years . The beginning of my work was in a preparatory school , working in the preparatory stage benefits me with my career but not so much because I was teaching for students between 12 and 15 , I mean they didn't provide me with the experience that I wished . After working for seven years in preparatory stage I moved to secondary stage and in that one I gained more information and experience . The students here in the secondary schools are very active and hard-working they try to study hard to join a good faculty .
in a very funny atmosphere thanks to the orientations of supervisors I am interested in lesson planning so that I can achieve the main goals of the lesson in the relevant time with positive results so I say to myself it's a fruitful period .
During my stay in America , I will make the best use of my time to meet people in different places to speak and exchange points of views concerning the coexisting in a peaceful world ,sometimes I may hold free courses in public places to teach Arabic
and to give them an idea about Arab culture away from racism and extremism hoping to break the ice between the two cultures
