For those who are intermediate/ advance Indonesian speakers, I dont use a fix curriculum. Instead, I usually use the first meeting/lesso n to assess my student's capability in Indonesian and then decide what kind of material he/she will study. I prefer to make/customis ed the material by myself based on the current understanding of the student. It could be a combination of some grammar books, current newspapers & magazines, etc covering all aspects of language learning.
For those who have no idea about Indonesian or very basic understanding of the language, I use a fix textbook (Indonesian for foreigners). Starting from May 2011, I am going to use a new textbook published by language institute of the University of Indonesia. This university has a well established 'Indonesian for Foreign Speakers' program for a very long time.

I dont have any FORMAL EDUCATION background in Indonesian Literature or Indonesian Education. However, I could say my Indonesian is better than average Indonesian because I come from Riau Province where the Indonesian language originally come from. I learned Indonesian in its today's official Indonesian form and its source form which gave me more opportunity in understanding Indonesian.
I personally also have a big interest in Indonesian language and culture. I worked voluntarily as an editor and also had some experience of translating from English to Indonesian for one of leading book publisher in Jakarta.

Sure. I can give you some global view of Indonesian language (and culture) by online chatting. I am pretty flexible and you do not need to pay for that. If I am not very busy (at the time you are contacting me), I can even teach you the basic of reading and speaking (pronounciati on, greetings, simple introduction) by skype, Yahoo Messenger, or MSN.
