Teaching Approach

You can expect to learn Mandarin in an homy and non-smoking environment. I can give group lessons to begnners, intermediate and advanced level students. I can also give private lessons to either adults or children in Pinyin (or Hanyu Pinyin) and/or learn the basics (ie. recognising and writing some Chinese characters).

Program Description

I can also provide private lessons for adults who only wish to learn conversationa l (business) mandarin to suit their needs. Study materials are provided for FREE of charge and the charges for group lesssons are reasonable.

Teaching Experience

I have experience giving private Mandarin lessons to two Korean high school students for about two years when I was working on my graduate degree in the U.S.

Teacher Training

I am a native speaker of Chinese language (Mandarin). So I have been speaking Mandarin all my life! I am fluent in English and speak a little bit of Japanese too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Group lessons for adults are offered once a week on Satuday afternoon at 2pm. For teens, the lessons are held once a week on Tuesday afternoon and/or Thursday afternoon at 5:15pm. For young children, the lessos are held once a week on Monday afternoon morning at 10am and/or 4pm. Private lessons are offered usually in the evening at 6:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and/or Monday and Satuday morning at 11:30am.

Other days/time slots may be arraged depending on availability.

Cost of Lessons

Study materials are provided for FREE of charge and the charges for group lesssons are reasonable. For adults (20 and above) I charge $35/hour, teens (between age of 11-19) for $20/hour and young children (age of 4-10) for $15/hour: these charges are for group lessons. For charges on private one-on-one lessons, please contact me.
