Method of teaching depends largely on the skill level and experience of the student. For advanced students I often turn lessons into discussion of business or political issues. For university students the discussions often center on social issues. For children a total physical response methodology is generally employed.

What hours are you available to teach?
Tea ching hours are entirely flexible. I try to accommodate the needs of my students.
Can you describe a typical study lesson?
It depends greatly on the student himself/herse lf. I teach with a great deal of enthusiasm and sensitivity.
Where else have you taught?
I' ve taught in the USA, in Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
W hat is your connection with Japan?
My wife is from Shizuoka City. Our five year old daughter is bilingual, English-Japan ese. We live in Kona, Hawaii most of the time, where I grow coffee, own a small inn, and teach part time at the local elementary school, but will spend an extended period of time in Shizuoka in 2011.

Depends on the student's ability to pay and the number of students in the class. My hourly rates are lower than one might expect from a teacher with my experience.
