Teaching Approach

Lots of conversation! Talking about the students interests and objectives learning the language. I also use visual aids (commercials, cartoons, books, photos) to help students memorize new vocabulary and expressions.

Program Description

My main focus when teaching is conversation. I find that once the student is able to communicate he/she has more interest for the language. Lessons are fun and designed for the students needs. Ex: If the student needs to travel I will guide the lessons towards everyday language, how to ask for a taxi, how to ask for prices, directions, time, etc.

Teaching Experience

I taught Spanish for about 8 months at a private school. I'm a native Brazilian and have been an interpreter and translator for the past 5 years. Began teaching Portuguese 2 years ago and because of my students feedback (they like my classes) I want to dedicate more time to teaching. I really like it!

My teaching schedule is flexible.
Every 2 weeks.
The fact that I studied Veterinary and have worked as an interpreter makes me a well rounded individual capable of teaching virtually any subject in Portuguese, therefore creating interesting lessons.
Cla sses can be at a library, coffee shop, student's place of work.
Materi al (book) should be bought by the student. If I have to create (put together) all the material for the lessons, that increases the rate of the classes.

Depending on the distance I have to drive my lessons range from 25 to 50 dollars.
