Teaching Approach

I believe that a student should first learn the basic conversationa l phrases of a language so that he or she becomes comfortable with hearing these elementary aspects. Essential vocabulary is the next step, essential being words used in everyday conversations , regarding everyday topics and activites. Finally, the student should become familiar with the difference in syntax between his or her language of origin and the language being taught. Once the student has mastered these three areas of the language, he or she should be fairly prepared for elemntary conversationa l exercises.

Program Description

I can provide flashcard activities to help the student learn essential vocabulary. In addition, I can prepare a topic for discussion at every meeting session. I also prefer to incorporate a sequence of grammar exercises towards the beginning of the course to help familiarize the student with the syntactic structure of the language being taught. I will also help the student with any homework or test preparation required.

Teaching Experience

I have never taught a class alone, but I worked as a teacher's assistant for one year during high school for a Hebrew School class at Congregation Shir Hadash.

Teacher Training

I attended Los Gatos High School and am now a semester away from my Associates Degree (AA) at West Valley College. I belong to Congregation Shir Hadash and Hillel of Silicon Valley.
