Our emphasis is on active partcipation by every student, based on a communicative approach where students are encouraged to ask questions as well as answer them, and to participate in the full range of activities provided to ensure that they improve as quickly as possible. Students are also encouraged to give input into what and how they like to study, so they can work with the teacher to tailor lessons specific to their needs.

Milton College is an English language and academic preparation school in Sydney. We specialise in preparing students for univwersities , vocational colleges and high schools, as well as general English for work, travel or conversation.

Teaching Experience

All Milton College teachers are fully qualified with university degrees and TESOL teacher qualification s(CELTA and DELTA). All teachers are also experienced, most of them have taught a range of different levels in a range of different countries.

Teacher Training

Milton College is a member of English Australia and NEAS. Our English for Academic purposes course has direct entry to a range of universities, vocational colleges and TAFE. Our Certificate IV in TESOL is a government accredited certificate. High School Preparation has links to both government and private high schools.

A: Classes have between 12 and 15 students.
Q: Who will be my classmates?
A: Students come from a wide range of countries across Asia, South America and Europe. Ages vary, though most students are in their 20's.
Q: How will I know if I'm improving?
A : Students are tested monthly across the four skills - speaking, listening ,reading and writing. Each student is then given a thorough report detailing their progress in all areas.
Q: What can I do in my spare time?
A: Sydney is a beautiful and active city. The main focus is the harbour and the many beaches, providing the setting for a range of activities including swimming, surfing, sailing, sunbathing, and a whole range of sports. Also, because Sydney is a multicultural city, there are restaurants covering every corner of the globe, and enough shopping alternatives to satisfy even the biggest shopaholics!
