Teaching Approach

I am interested in making sure the student understands each stage thoroughly before moving on, and linking the different aspects of language to their own as often as possible to make it easier. I ensure that the student gains a sound level of grammar in the language. I believe oral practise is as important as written, the student should be able to converse as well as they can write the language. I really enjoy teaching people languages and the cultures involved.

Program Description

I am an British student due to graduate in November majoring in German. I spent time last year at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and also studied French and Spanish at University in England. I am looking for students who wish to begin one of these three languages. I first discuss what the student would like to get out of the tuition and then tailor the program accordingly.

Teaching Experience

I moved to Australia from the U.K. in January to complete my final year of University in Perth as my fiancee is from here. During my time at University in England I undertook a voluntary tuition post at a local high school, helping with their French and German.

Teacher Training

I am in my final Semester of my Bachelor of Arts majoring in German. I also spent a semester as a student at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. I plan to do a masters of conference interpreting in Germany in the coming years.

Q) I already have a very decent knowledge of the language and would just like to brush up on it. Can I do this with you?

A) As I am a graduating student I would feel more comfortable teaching beginners. However, I would discuss your level with you personally.

Q) When are you available for lessons?

A ) I have a very light workload currently and have good availability which I will be able to arrange with you.

Q) Are you highly qualified?
A) No. I am a student and tutor on the side. I do however have the knowledge to teach beginners correctly.
Q) Will the classes be enjoyable?
A) Yes! I do everything to make classes fun, it is much easier to remember things when you are having fun!

Cost of Lessons

$25/hour private lessons. Group prices available on request. Learning materials will be provided.
