Teaching Approach

We have pioneered a distinctive teaching methodology and learning materials to meet the unique needs of adult learners. Our group Mandarin classes focus on effective communciation in real life situations - and our very small group class sizes and experienced Mandarin teachers ensure practical results in a short period of time.

Program Description

We train North American companies, organizations and individuals to work and do business successfully in China through its Mandarin Chinese language classes and China Business training. We offer group, private, semi-private and corporate classes.

Teaching Experience

All of our instructors are experienced teachers from several provinces of Mainland China. All speak standard Putonghua and all have been trained in TLI's unique teaching methodology.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is your teaching schedule?

A: Group classes are scheduled on evenings, weekends, or weekday mornings. Classes are usually 3 hours once per week, or 2 hours twice per week. Intensive programs run on special schedules.
Private classes can be arranged 7 days/week, depending on the teacher's availability.

Q- What is your payment policy?

A- Tuition for group classes is due before the first class. Private classes are billed one month in advance, and can be canceled or rescheduled with 48 hours notice.

Q- How long will it take to become fluent in Mandarin?

A- Linguists say that it takes an English speaker 2,000 hours to be come fluent and literate in Mandarin Chinese using traditional methods. Over the 51 years that we have developed and refined our world-renown Mandarin teaching curriculum, we have demonstrated that our students become literate and fluent in approximately 900 hours.

Cost of Lessons

Private lessons start at $50/hour. Cost for group classes varies depending on the program.
