As a Chinese teacher in a major university in beijing for more than 5 years, I had taken various programmes including EU-China managers training programme, American college students'prog ramme of Chinese studies, and international sutdents' exchange programme in the university, etc. The class size ranged from 5 to 20, and the courses were from beginning to advanced. My teaching method changed due to learners' difference in age, cultural background, personality,l earning style, and need.
With the experience of different types of class both face to face and online, I believe the interaction between the teacher and learners decides the result of the class, as education is foundamentall y a process of communication .Thus my class is never boring and tiring to learners. My teaching principles are:
Learning is fun and creative;
Help learners find their own ways of learning the language;
Help learners enjoy the pleasure of communication and creation brought by Chinese learning.

I've been teaching Chinese to foreign students in a university in beijing since 2005. The programmes I've worked with included the EU-China Managers Training Programme (METP), American college students' programme in the beijing center of China Studies (TBC), various university exchange programmes for international students, and the American Chinese teenagers summer camp, etc. The courses I've taught included Integrated Chinese, colloquial Chinese, and creative writing. Besides this, I also worked for a global organization teaching expatriates in Beijing. Now I am doing an online Chinese learning research project.
