My communicative and interactive method puts the accent on oral expression, and the immediate and constant recourse to the French language.I focus on developing your oral mastery of the language as it is spoken in everyday French life. Each lesson is inspired by how you express yourself and what you want to communicate.
The varied activities, the selective introduction of grammatical explanations and the systemactic, but amusing, correction of pronunciation allow you to grasp the workings of the French language.
Above all, I take into account your personality, your needs and your expectations in order to be able to provide the most appropriate teaching method and to establish a personalized course programme which will ensure the best results.
F inally, after each lesson, I will provide immediate feedback and an evaluation of your progress. You will also be given homework (pdf or word) and model phrases designed to help you review and master what you have just studied. No material is needed, I will provide all pedagogical documents.

I can also help you to find an accodomation in a family if you desire to come and study in Provence.

What is your teaching schedule?

May I have a trial lesson?
Yes, of course. I will give you a trial lesson at no charge. Trial lessons last half an hour and are very effective in understanding my learning approach. You will need your computer and a headset (if it's not included in your computer) etc. This is also a good way to test out your communication skills and allow you to meet me. Please feel free to contact me for this trial class at no cost for you.
How many classes do you recommend per week?
I recommend a minimum of 3 hours class per week for beginners.
How long will it take me to learn?
It is up to you..! If you are motivated and do your homework, you can be talking in 2-3 months.
Wi ll I be assigned homework?
Ye s, of course. If you are serious about the language, I recommend you do the homework I will send you after finishing our class. This is a very cost-effectiv e situation for you, as you are learning from my materials at no extra charge.
Wh ere will the lessons take place?
I use zoom.us to teach to my students that live all over the World. You will be able to see me via a webcam and communicate with me via a headset. The only difference that my Skype classes may have compared to a live in person class is that you and I won't be at the same place: you might be sitting on your couch at home while I will be working from my office in Mormoiron. Different from group courses, my attention will be focused only on you - allowing you to reach much better learning results. You will have my 100% attention and you won't be distracted by other students or embarrassed by speaking in a group. I will draw you into a conversation, and we will be both totally engaged. I will write to you the difficult sentences in Skype Instant Message, and will also give you a Lesson Transcript to review on your own. I am sure you will be amazed at your progress!
I have a classroom in Mormoiron for the students who live around. You will see, it's very cosy, perfect to feel at ease to learn a language.
Can you compare my Zoom classes to a residential “immersion” course in France?
I will never criticize taking a month in France to learn French. Residential classes can be excellent but they take a big slice out of your vacation time. The "per hour" cost is also high, especially if you count the lodging and airfare - but the food can be really good. The academic risk is that you are again learning the language (for example) with a group of international speakers, of different levels. I think this is less effective that one-on-one instruction or group lessons with 3 students of the same level. Also when you get home, there is no follow up, and your skills can begin to fade. I think steady instruction over time is a better option than a single month of "immersion". Why not do the "immersion" at home, more effectively, and for less money?
How ever, if you feel like staying a week or more in Mormoiron, I know wonderful families who would be glad to share their way of living and French language skills with you. (upon request)

Cost of Lessons

The following rates apply to both in person and online courses. Payments for in person programmes are made on location; online courses payments are made by bank transfer to our account, IBAN given upon request before the lessons (certain banks use intermediarie s who charge fees – please note that any such fees will be at your cost).
D egressive prices for intensive courses :
Private lesson rate for one lesson of 45 minutes per week : 50 euros
Less ons packages FOR INTENSIVE COURSES (for at least 2 lessons of 45 minutes per week, TIME-BOUNDED) through zoom.us or in my classroom in Mormoiron:
– 450 euros for 10 lessons of 45 minutes
- 750 euros for 20 lessons of 45 minutes
Group lesson rate for one hour lesson :
– 2 students : 30 euros/student
– 3 students : 25 euros/student
Cancellati on policy:
You might know that the normal announcement for a cancellation is 24 hours in advance in many private or single arrangements of all sorts of businesses. But the experience showed that it happens in almost all sorts of businesses that people get short term notifications which they couldn't have foreseen 24 hours in advance. Therefore my cancellation policy is as follows (exceptions due to situation and circumstances are always possible):
24 hours in advance: No charge.
12 hours in advance: Half price of cancelled lessons.
Les s than 12 hours in advance: Full price of cancelled lessons.
