I studied Russian in college. I have taken 2 and 1/2 years of Russian. I am hoping to return to university to complete my M.A., but it has been ten years since my last course in Russian. I struggle with the jump between year two and three. It is hard for me to think in Russian. I am looking for a teacher who will help me identify where I am at and what areas I need to work on. I prefer a patient instructor. I am looking at half hour bi-weekly lessons, or one hour weekly sessions.

I want to continue my Japanese language lessons because I am half Japanese. I used to take lessons 5 years ago but stopped because I got married and had 2 children. They are 1 & 2 years old and I would like for them to learn to speak Japanese eventually.
I'm not sure yet if I want to do in person or video conferencing. I think that I can dedicate 1 to 2 hours per week. In my former language class I had to study at least 1 hour per day. With two very small children I'm hoping that I can still dedicate the time.
The qualities that I am looking for in a teacher is experience and patience. Also, someone that will making learning a very difficult language somewhat fun and interesting.
