I have no experience with Arabic at this point, although I am nearly fluent in Spanish, and am currently taking classes to learn French and German. I feel that because of world affairs and relations, Arabic is a language that would be extremely beneficial to learn. My reasons for wanting to learn would be not only for career advancement, but also to further my horizons as a global citizen. I am willing to dedicate as much time as is required to learn this language. Qualities that I think are most important with these lessons would be written grammar, conversation, connections to other dialects other than Middle Eastern Arabic (such as Egyptian, Moroccan, and Pashtu), understanding of culture and traditions, and perhaps even a study abroad session. Regarding qualities of a teacher, I feel that being a native speaker is of the utmost importance, as well as being a fluent and clear speaker of English.

My name is Mayte Iza and I am interested in learning Arabic. I have purchased the pimsleur Arabic audio lessons, and have learned very little. I would like to improve in my conversationa l skills; I am not to worried about grammar. I am a beginner. Going to stay in Dubai for about four weeks in July. My famiily in-inlaw are from Syria and do not speak much english so I would like to learn arabic both spoken and reading and writing.
A couple of hours maybe four times a week would be exellent.
A teacher with experience in the Syrian (Aleppo) dialect would be helpful.

I am a beginner in arabic; as in I really do not know any arabic. I want to begin to learn the language because i study linguistics and I have also found that more and more people in the London area are arab speaking. I mainly want to learn conversationa l arabic. I will dedicate any amount of time to my lessons. I want to spend as much time as possible learning. The only problem is I can only come during the winter and summer holidays. Basically that would be december/janu ary and may/june/july /august. I am looking for a teacher who would be able to dedicate some time hopefully each day of the week to lessons.
