I have a lot of Arabic friends. I have picked up a couple very simple words here and there from hearing them talk. I have a little book that helps me with phrases. I want to learn so that I can speak to them and understand them. I would like to focus more on conversationa l than the grammatical but I understand you need both to learn the language. I have a full-time job but I have time towards the evenings. I have two of the 7 days off at random. I would like to get as much practice as possible or how much my schedule will allow. I want the teacher to be able to teach me more than what I can learn on my own by reading books. I want to learn to hear, listen, and speak Arabic, not so much write.

I am an English businessman. I am likely to be spending the next several years living and working in the UAE. Although I have been told that most of the business I am involved with is conducted in English, I want to use my time here to learn to speak, read and write Arabic to a high standard, both in order to assist me in my daily life, and also to gain a better understanding of Arab culture.
I deally, in addition to structured lessons, I would like to find a family - possibly in a rural / farming environment - with which I may be allowed to stay for a few weeks at a time in order to immerse myself in both the language and the culture.
