I am learning a foreign language for career advancement. My proficeny level is moderate, and, I need to improve in areas of grammar and conversation. Currently, I can devote two hours per week. I am most interested in learning Russian at this time because this summer I am visiting Russia and Ukraine for a month. I want to be able to carry at least a brief conversation with my acquaintances and function going about my travels. I would say that I currently have a very small vocabulary of about 100-150 words as a base to start with, but not really able to form significant sentences. I can count to ten easily, say basic pleasantries, and very basic statements such as: I don't know, I understand, Where is the bank?, etc.
I would like to try to attempt 4 hours of instruction a week until I leave for Russia in mid May. It means a lot to me to learn as much as I can before leave. I am looking for an experienced tutor that has a flexible schedule.
Other than that I also am anticipating travel in South America and looking for possible instruction Spanish and Portuguese. And furthering my education in China, most likely will be looking into Mandarin instruction as well.
