I want to gain a solid introduction to the language and then the culture of Thailand. I want to learn enough to prepare me to use simple Thai with assurance in everyday situations, as well as provide me with the essentials of grammar and vocabulary to build on the knowledge of Thai I gain from these lessons.
I really want to be able to speak and listen to Thai, so I can communicate effectively on everyday topics, such as:

• shopping
• food and drink
• interests
• likes and dislikes
• introduce myself and others and use basic expressions for meeting, greeting and saying goodbye
• engage in simple conversations and exchange personal information about my family, work, and nationality
• use numbers correctly, in the context of phone calls and money
• order drinks and foods in a restaurant
• invite people out
• show an understanding and appreciation of the values and customs of Thai-speaking communities
