I have studied hindi for a little less than a year and would like to continue to learn more. However I feel I am still very much a real beginner.
When I have learnt a language before I have found the best for me is to have a one hour lesson, private tuition each week with a little set homework to complete. Although I don't drive I can usually use public transport to get to a tutor's address.
My main reason for learning hindi is a keen interest in India and a lifelong enjoyment of languages generally. I don't have plans to travel to India but hope I can communicate with the wider Indian diaspora and especially those who live in Brisbane.
I would prefer a female teacher, living in the northern suburbs of Brisbane and preferably near a bus or train network. As I work 4 days a week, an evening would be best, although monday afternoons may also be possible. It would be good to have some fun as I learn since I enjoy the interaction involved with learning another language and culture.

i am wanting to learn croatian as my new husband is and the remainder of his family do not speak english nor are they likely too. I would really like to be able to have a conversation with my mother in law one day in croatian.
I am a complete novice, although I have picked up a few words and their meaning from listening to my husband speak with his family.
I am not confident in my speaking ability, I would love to be able to read it though.
A teacher that could also demonstate the variances with the serbian language too would be good, but once I have progressed with the croatian first.
