I am writing this for two people. I am requesting information for myself as well as my 19 yr. old son. We both want to travel to Syria to study Arabic there. I am at the level of beginner intermediate or beginner advanced and he is at beginner.
We both want to learn for career advancement although I think he also is just excited to travel and do something together with his father.
Areas we need improvement in? all of it frankly. I would like to be able to speak fluently, to understand easily and translate whatever I read or hear into English. Eventually I want to speak ARabic well enough to be able to teach at the high school or college level; eventually.
I would like to study in classroom for three hours a day five days a week. I hope to find a school very soon as it was my desire to be in Syria before the end of the year.
In my teacher I hope to find someone that is a very effective and patient teacher. A person that is happy to be doing what he is doing.

My proficiency level in Arabic is 0. In other words, I would like to learn as a beginner. I wanted to learn Arabic since long time ago but had no opportunity as the country that I was working in do not have a arabic class that suit my time. Now that I am going to be transferred to UAE, I would like to take this opportunity to learn Arabic. I would expect to learn this after working hours and 2-3 class per week is good enough for me. I hope that by the end of this lesson, I would manage to talk fluently in arabic, can understand the language, can write to certain level and can read. Better still if I could understand come of the languages in Al-Quran when I read it.
