I just finished my undergrad career at Grand Valley State University. While there I studied Japanese for 2 years. They are finally starting a 3rd year language proficiency called advance intermediate Japanese 301. While taking the class I ranked 3rd amongst all her students for 4 semesters straight. Unfortunately , I haven't studied the language in 2 years so my grammar, conversation and Kanji knowledge has dwindled, I can however, recognize the Kanji that I knew and I can still read Hiragana and Katakana. I am looking for someone who can help me recover my lost knowledge as well as push me further in understanding and application. My goal is to become fluent in the language after intensive study by the time I am 30 years old. I love worksheets, puzzles and just about everything that I can get my hands on. I even have a few literature books for a independent study course that was canceled last minute. I am a very fast learner who wants to dedicate at least 3-4 hours a week, possibly more once I get a steady job, to personal lessons and another 3-4 hours of my own studying. I am looking for a flexible teacher who is willing to go an extra mile for me. I would also prefer a teach who is fun and serious at the same time. Someone from Japan is preferred because I plan on getting my master's degree in Asian Pacific Studies at Ristumeikan Daigaku in a few years.

I came to Chicago because of my university and now I'm hoping to go back to Hong Kong for my future career and I would like to learn Cantonese before I go back.

I wish to learn Hindi to travel to India before I enter into medical school. I have never taken Hindi before. I would dedicate a lot of time (example: my GPA is 3.91 at UIC which is only 2 B's in my freshman semester).

I am half Assyrian on my father's side and he never taught me the language. I would like to get more involved in the Assyrian community and obtain a career in Assyrian affairs, but I must learn the language first. Being a beginner, I only know few words and phrases and would have to learn all aspects of the language. I am willing to dedicate ten hours a week to learn Assyrian. I am looking for a teacher that can speak fluent and proper English and Assyrian to guarantee that I learn correctly.
